Please gather all of the props that you'll need before joining the class. Arrive at lease 5 minutes before your scheduled time. How do I attend a Seasonal Beach Yoga class?
Please register for Beach Yoga in advance online. The space is limited to 25 due to current group guidelines. The class will be weather dependent and at the discretion of the teacher.
We will meet at Whale Park, the corner of Hemlock Street and 3rd - the North end of Downtown Cannon Beach.
Please bring a beach towel and anything else you might need to sit comfortably on the sand. Please dress in layers.
You will be asked to sign a Liability Waiver and answer some questions required by our Governor's Guidelines to participate in class: Have you experienced COVID-19 symptoms in the last 24 hours? Have you had a fever of 100.3 in the last 24 hours? If you answer, yes, to either question, you will be asked to join another time when it is possible to answer, no.
We will practice 6ft distancing on the sand. The exception is that families or traveling companions may set up closer to each other, but with 6ft distance from others.
What should I wear to class?
Come as you are! Fancy yoga clothes are not necessary. Comfortable clothes that you can move in are preferable: Sweat pants, board shorts, t-shirts, tank tops.
Where should I park?
All parking is Free in Cannon Beach. Street parking is available on Hemlock and Spruce Streets. Public Parking lot is at Spruce and 2nd.
May I modify my practice for injuries?
We encourage and have many props available to modify a practice. Please let your instructor know of any physical issues that may need special care. We recommend rest for acute injuries and recent surgeries. Please check with your doctor.
How often should I practice yoga?
This is a personal choice based on your intentions for your practice. As with anything, the more often you practice, the more skilled you become. Disclaimer: a daily practice could sneak up on you.
May I eat before class?
It is preferable to practice on an empty stomach. Please avoid a heavy meal before class. Think of it like swimming - wait at least an hour before jumping in the pool or onto your mat.
What should I bring with me?
You may bring your personal yoga mat and any other props that you use in your home practice. However, we have a fully stocked studio with mats, blocks, straps, bolsters, blankets and an assortment of other props. We do not charge extra for the use of a mat or props.
